FIRST NATIONAL CONFERENCE
ON
GERIATRICS AND GERONTOLOGICAL STUDIES IN INDIA
(NCGGSI-2010).
This is for your kind information that under the aegis of University Grants Commission and in collaboration with Jadavpur University, the Department of Mathematics, Department of Computer Science, Department of Commerce and Computer Centre, Netaji Nagar Day College have undertaken a project to hold a two-day National Conference on Geriatrics and Gerontological Studies in India.
As preparatory step, the organizing committee has decided to invite papers from Colleges, Universities and related Institutions of our country. The two-day conference will be held at the campus of Netaji Nagar Day College and Computer Centre, Kolkata - 700092, West Bengal.
| We will be highly obliged if the Experts and Researchers in the field of different Universities, Colleges and related institution submit their papers on enclosed proposed syllabus for Undergraduate Studies on the theme of the subjects in the Technical Session of the Conference. |
We further request our colleagues from all Universities, Colleges, Institutions and interested elderly people to submit their papers according to the grouping on Geriatrics and Gerontology, as classified below:
- Social Gerontology; 2) Care Giving; 3) Basic Geriatrics; 4) Applied Geriatrics;
- Geriatric Nursing.
Elderly people of our society are requested to participate in the session mentioned above and also in the general session.
The participants are requested to submit their papers as per the following schedule:
- Date of submission of paper: within 30th December, 2009.
- Acceptance of Submitted papers will be communicated by 15th January, 2010
- Tentative Dates of Conference : 15th and 16th February, 2010.

This conference will discuss on the title subjects and also try to find out the solution of the above problems and suggest actions in our country to work on their behalf educate others or investigate issues in the field of aging. The institution and their research activities include:
- Teaching Courses on Gerontology to College and University students, health care professionals.
- Conducting research on the ageing processes and diseases associated with aging, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Osteoporosis, Depression etc.
- Analyzing issues related to older person, such as, retirement opportunity, income maintenance, health care system, and housing alternatives.
- Planning, administrative and evaluating community-based services and service delivery systems for older persons.
- Advocating with or on behalf of older person before Legislative Bodies or in Institutional settings.
- Designing products to meet the special interest and needs of older person.
- Advising business, industry and labour regarding older workers and consumers.
After the conference all the selected papers will be published as proceeding of the conference.
