Laplace Transforms

Dilip Kumar Chakraborty & Sabyasachi Sen

The Laplace transform of a function is itself a function in the transform space.

The Laplace transform is a kind of operation by virtue of which one can find the Laplace transform of a given function by involving the classical process of integration and is conventionally indicated by a special symbol L, called the Laplace operator. The operator which when operated on a function, results in new function of another variable in the transform space. This operator can be viewed as the mapping (or transformation) of a function say f(t), in t-domain into another function F(s) in s-domain. Here F(s) is said to be the Laplace transform of the function f(t) and is denoted by L{f(t)} =F(s).

An Introduction to Mobile Communication & Related Issues

Santanu Bhattacharya

With the growth of mobile phone usage, people are increasingly able to communicate with other people when they are mobile, using the phone to chat by voice and text (SMS). However, as people have become more dependent on computer information systems, the requirement of the information available on their desktop or the network is becoming increasingly important when they are mobile too.

Some Private Aspects of Computer Systems

Chanchal Guha Roy

During the last couple of decades, computers have shown that they have the power to reshape nations. They can take the effective measure to develop our modern society in a wide variety of ways. The image of a computer is that of an electronic brain having intelligence and memory. Needless to say that intelligence depends mainly on two factors: i) accumulation of information, and ii) processing of information. Computer have helped us in many respects by reducing our manual works, speeding up communications, improving the quality of our works, etc. Nowadays, computers are not only used in scientific or business arena, but also found in fashion technology, graphics design, architecture, interior decoration, including wireless communication and mobile computing.

In order to visualise the basic aspects of mobile computing, we need to know a few interesting activities of a computer system. Thus this lecture is divided into tow parts. The first part covers a simple introduction to some fundamental aspects associated with computer studies, whereas the second part concerns with a brief discussion on the basic features of operating system. Finally, some important MS-DOS commands and UNIX commands are described.

Impact of Information Technology on Human

Resource Management (HRM)

Alok Mishra

The objective of above study is to assess observations of the various frontier and cutting-edge technologies impact on Human Resource Management (HRM) in national and multinationals organizations in present global liberalization of economy. Information and Information Technology are the key drivers of the Information era. The Information age has reached in knowledge based industrial revolution. Enterprises are networked and use IT Technologies to survive, grow and flourish in a highly competitive business environment of today. Consequently we can also study observations on role HRM Professionals in IT sector in present scenario.
